Frank R. Ward (M.S.) writes that he is enjoying the beauties of Virginia-Monticello, the Atlantic Ocean, Chesapeake Bay-and missing and thinking of classmate Gene Sidoroff.
1943
John Zullo is the proud grandfather of Dana Zullo, a sophomore at Columbia College who is a standout on the field hockey team.
1952
Martin Seldon received the Ambassador Award from the Federation of Fly Fishers at their Annual Convention in Livingston, Montana, and is Chairman of the FFF International Relations Committee. He retired in 1992 but is a part-time marketing/ management consultant for Communications and Power Industries in Palo Alto.
1955
Leo Cirino, who has been teaching kids physics and astronomy since his early retirement from Norden Systems, plans to take 40 youngsters to the US Space Camp near the Kennedy Space Center for a one-week stay this summer. Last summer, he was one of two chaperones who took 26 students in grades 4 through 7 from Westport, CT, to the Space Camp. Leo is one of the committee of four who put together the Engineering Reunion at Camp Columbia last June.

Ralph Wyndrum, class of '59
Ralph W. Wyndrum, Jr., retired from AT&T Labs as Vice President - Program Planning and has established an engineering consulting firm focusing on R&D resource allocation and project management. He recently was elected to the IEEE Board of Directors. He and his wife Meta have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary and are the proud grandparents of their fifth grandchild, Ralph IV.
1962
Gerald D. Cohen, founder, president and CEO of Information Builders Inc., received the Mayor's Award for Excellence in Technology presented by Rudolph W. Giuliani in ceremonies conducted in March at Gracie Mansion.
1964
James L Chapman (M.S.) writes that, since he retired, he doesn't know how he had time to be gainfully employed. He is on the Steering Committee of The Cascades Conservation Partnership, a coalition to raise $125 million in public and private funds to buy 75,000 acres of Washington State timber land to add to the national forests.
1966
Julian J. Wu is now Associate Director for Mathematics and Computer Sciences at Engineering Sciences Directorate, US Army Research Office in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. He returned Stateside after a four-year tour of duty as Director, US Army Research Office - Far East in Tokyo.
1968
David Davidowitz recently was named vice president of gas engineering at Con Edison, where he has held senior positions in gas operations, environmental affairs and engineering.
1972
Albert T. Eng and his wife Tina enjoyed another recent campus visit with sons Jeffrey (SEAS '04) and Kevin (CC '02).
1973
Milton Feng, professor of electrical and computer engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, was one of four researchers to receive Taiwan's most prestigious electronics industry research award, the Pan Wen Yuan Outstanding Research Award. He was cited for his development of a 50GHz ion-implanted metal-semiconductor field-effect transistor (MESFET) process widely used in industry.
1976
Kenneth Clark (M.S. '79), a product manager for Lucent Technologies, has been transferred to the Pathstar Access Server Program as product manager. This is the first packet-based IP data/telephony switch to be sold in the U.S.
1977
Vijay Samant (M.S.), a Manager of the Columbia Engineering School Alumni Association, was appointed president and CEO of Vical Inc., a company currently developing therapeutic and vaccine products for the prevention or treatment of cancer, infectious diseases and metabolic disorders using its patented gene delivery technology.
1978
Harry Layman reports that his oldest son, Harry, a junior at Columbia College, is on the debate team, which hosted two tournaments this year, including one novice tournament that was won by his brother James, a freshman at the University of Virginia.
1980
Tony Trocchia recently joined Jones Lang LaSalle, Inc., a real estate investment management services firm, as Vice President, Technical Services for the North East region, with offices in New York City.
1981
Ron Klein, class of '81
Ron Klein has been named marketing manager, U.S. Chemical and Allied Industries, for Air Liquide America. He is responsible for chemicals, petroleum, pharmaceutical and polymer industries in the U.S. merchant market. He had previously worked at FMC, where he led the development and commercialization of a new coating for pharmaceutical dosage forms and managed the commercialization of applications and products for the environmental, chemical and paper markets.
James F. Reda and his wife, Debbie, are enjoying Atlanta. He has just published his first book, Pay to Win: How America's Most Successful Companies Pay their Executives, which is available on Amazon.com.
1982
Paul H. Wong (M.S.), Vice President, Research & Development, reports his start-up company, ecVision, recently completed its second round of financing. The company, designed to automate the merchandise supply chain process via the Internet, provides integrated B2B technologies for retailers and manufacturers, including JC Penney.
1985
David D. D. Mohr, who was recently awarded Intel's Achievement Award, died in February of non-tobacco related lung cancer. He was a Program Manager for the Intel Corp. in Beaverton, OR, and is survived by his wife, Julia Mohr, and sons Geoff, 15, and Trevor, 12.
1987
Wieslaw and Elizabeth Bell (BC '89) Topolski are the proud parents of Timothy John, now eight months old.
1988
David Shofi has been promoted to Senior Intellectual Property Attorney for IBM's Software Group. He and his wife Leanne now have a second child, Mallory Anne, who is six months old.
Alex Witkowski left Intel after 11 years to take some time off before pursuing a solo practice. Witko Venture Counsel is an intellectual property law practice emphasizing patent prosecution for startup companies in the San Francisco Bay Area, including Silicon Valley. Eugene Chang, M.D., graduated from medical school at UMDNJ in 1993, completed his surgical residency at Temple University Hospital in 1998, and is currently completing a fellowship in surgical oncology at the National Cancer Institute at the National Institutes of Health with a research interest in gene therapy for cancer.
1994
Jamy Bacchus and Ameilia Bourdeau, alum and volcano-climbers

Jamy Bacchus and Amelia Bourdeau summited Cotopaxi, the 19,348 ft. volcano in Ecuador shown in the background. Jamy and Amelia have moved back to New York City, where he is now an associate at Flack + Kurtz.
Aaron Wininger is currently an associate at the Silicon Valley (Palo Alto) office of Squire, Sanders & Dempsey, an international law firm with over 700 attorneys, practicing patent law, and is married to Tingyu Sun.
1997
John Wong has taken a position as an actuarial assistant at American International Group. He reports that Isabella Chow (CC '97) and Jeremy Eng will be attending Columbia Business School in the fall.
