Nada Marie Assaf-Anid: Environmental chemistry, environmental microbiology, water quality, PCB reactions.

Eileen B. Berenyi: Solid waste management (waste-to-energy, biogas generation from landfills).

Marco J. Castaldi: Reaction engineering for use of biomass and carbon dioxide to produce high value products; Catalytic reaction engineering to upgrade low energy fuels for low carbon energy production; flame chemistry for novel applications of CO2 usage; non-equilibrium catalytic reactions applied to highly selective processes, such as oxidative coupling; coal-biomass reactions; use of CO2 as a diluent in combustion systems.

Siu-Wai Chan: Nano-particles, grain boundaries, interfaces, and extended defects in thin films, electronic oxides, fuel cell technology.

Kartik Chandran: Application of nanotechnology, bioinformatics and advanced modeling based techniques for characterization of complex microbial consortia, multi-level responses of bacteria to stress and stimuli,  microbial ecology of engineered biological waste and water treatment reactors, development and application of novel biokinetic estimation tools, elucidation of microbial biochemical degradation pathways , bioprocess modeling and parameter identification for complex biotransformations.

Patricia J. Culligan: Geo-environmental engineering with primary focus on the on the experimental and numerical modeling of flow and contaminant transport processes in geologic systems.

George Deodatis: Modeling of uncertain earthquake/wind loads and material/soil properties; risk assessment and risk management of urban infrastructure systems.

Nathiel G. Egosi: Process engineering and equipment design for the recovery of materials from municipal, electronic, automobile ,and C&D wastes; processing of waste materials into feedstocks ,including resin separation and conversion of wastes to fuel.

Guillermo E. Franco: Environmental hazards, risk analysis & management, system identification, optimization.

Vasilis Fthenakis: Air pollution and prevention, chemical risk assessment, atmospheric dispersion modeling.
