Bristol Resource Recovery Facility (Bristol, CT., U.S.)

    • BRRFOC/TROC meets the waste disposal and recycling needs of 16 member towns across Connecticut. Everyday, the Bristol WTE facility transforms 600 tons of municipal solid waste to 16.3 megawatts of renewable energy that powers local homes and businesses, metals, and ash.
    • Since its start up this facility has processed over 4.5 million tons of solid waste while maintaining the highest level of environmental compliance with Connecticut’s strict air, water and solid waste regulations.
    • The Bristol WTE is one of six such facilities. In conjunction with the very successful recycling program of Connecticut,  energy recovery has moved the State of Connecticut to the very top of the “sustainable waste management ladder” of the Earth Engineering Center.
