Professional Organizations - Potential Resources for Search Committees
Recruiting for your open position is a vital part of the open search process. Advertising minimally for an open position could yield a small pool of applicants thereby lengthening the entire process. To assist you with your advertising plan and minimize the prospect of repeating the entire search, we have provided a cursory listing of advertising options to get you started.
Below is a listing of professional organizations. One way of using this list is by considering posting a position. Some allow posting for "Free"; this is notated next to the organization. However this is subject to change.. As such, please check the organization web site to know what the current rate structure is when deciding to post a position.
In addition to using the formal resources (i.e. posting a position), we also suggest networking and contacting faculty colleagues in one's field and/or doctoral advisors. Some of these organizations listed provide these types of opportunities.
