Abstract
The globally
most wide spread sustainability problems in water use are overpumping
aquifers, reduction of low flows of rivers, soil salination, drying
up wetlands and pollution of aquifers. The issues and solutions
are discussed and illustrated with three recent projects concerning
the management of Okavango Delta (Botswana), the salination in Yangi
Basin (China) and the overpumping of the North-west aquifer system.
