Electrochemical & hydrometallurgical processes, corrosion of metals, mineral waste treatment and recovery. Physical chemistry of aqueous electrolytes and molten salts applied to electrochemical and hydrometallurgical processes, in particular: electrowinning of rare earths from mixtures of molten salts, new electrodes for electrowinning plating of alloys, use of SO2/O2 mixtures for leaching and precipitation processes, pitting corrosion and hydrogen embrittlement of high strength steel and alloys. |
